Ann Johnson, ’94 MA, was featured in “A Woman’s Work is…,” a collection of art from seven female artists at the Community Artists’ Collective in Houston. Her work, “Hoop Dreamin’,” is a series of mixed-media pieces that depicts the aspirations of children who dream of escaping poverty through basketball.

Rissie Owens, ’94 MA, was renamed to the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles.

Mike Fincke, ’01 MS, achieved his first space flight on the Expedition 9 in April. The NASA astronaut served as flight engineer and science officer for a six-month mission on the international space station.

Patti Nesrsta, ’02 MS, is a teacher at Clear Brook High School. She teaches Community-Oriented Science and Mathematics Opportunities for Students, a program that introduces students to the information technology, petrochemical, aerospace and biomedical fields. Nesrsta wrote the curriculum for COSMOS’ information technology and aerospace components.
